• The North District Anti-Drug And Fight-Crime Variety Show 2007, broadcast live by RTHK, disseminated messages of the ill-effects of drug abuse and crime, and the importance of family values to residents of the district.

Secretary for Justice visits North District

• The Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, visited North District on December 14, 2007 to familiarize with the latest local development as well as law enforcement and publicity efforts on youth drug issues. He toured the Sheung Shui Junior Police Call (JPC) which is housed in a historic 100-year-old police station. Mr Wong joined an anti-drug seminar for youngsters and chatted with some JPC members who were participating in various activities at the clubhouse.

• He then visited the Lok Ma Chau Customs Control Point where he attended demonstrations by drug detector dogs and saw the latest equipment used to counter drug trafficking and smuggling offences. Mr Wong also met members of the North District Council and the District Fight Crime Committee to listen to their views on youth drug abuse.
