Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Carnival Social Enterprise Market Fair (24.7.2010)

  • Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Mr Raymond Young and Director of Home Affairs Mrs Pamela Tan tour the "Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Carnival Social Enterprise (SE) Market Fair" at the piazza of the Hong Kong Museum of Art to support SE. At the market fair, social enterprises put on sale various products, including health food and drinks, organic farm products, puddings and snacks, South Asian costumes and painting on hands, as well as photo printing on balloons.

Dragon Boat Family Carnival (24.7.2010)

District Council chairmen and vice-chairmen visit Shanghai and Suzhou (4.6.2010 - 7.6.2010)

  • The Secretary for Home Affairs Mr Tsang Tak-sing, the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Mr Raymond Young, and the Director of Home Affairs Mrs Pamela Tan, together with a delegation of District Council chairmen and vice chairmen arrived in Shanghai and pose for a group photo after taking the maglev train. Apart from calling on Shanghai and Jiangsu leaders, the delegation toured local communities and infrastructure, including the Yangshan deep-water port, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park and Suzhou Museum. A visit was also made to the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China.

  • The delegation watch two residents practising Chinese calligraphy in a community centre in Shanghai.

Cheung Chau Bun Festival Grand Parade (21.5.2010)

  • The Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Raymond Young, officiated at the Grand Parade kick-off ceremony of the 2010 Cheung Chau Bun Festival. Mr Young presents a souvenir flag to one of the parade teams.

  • Many visitors gathered on Cheung Chau to watch the Cheung Chau Bun Festival Grand Parade which featured traditional floats, colourful lions and unicorns, a flag dance, as well as bagpipe and dance teams performances. Mr Raymond Young enjoys the performances with other officiating guests.

Visit to “2009 Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture” (23.2.2010)

  • The Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Raymond Young, the Director of Home Affairs, Mrs Pamela Tan, and members of the 18 District Councils visited the “2009 Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture” at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade.

  • The Biennale, under the theme of “City Mobilization: BYOB (Bring Your Own Biennale)”, was held in Hong Kong and Shenzhen from December 2009 to February 2010. Apart from architectural works, various works of artistic installations were also featured in the exhibition to give participants a sense of arts and culture in our living environment and to encourage innovative thinking for exploring the future of city development.
