Donations for Sichuan Reconstruction

Effective from 1 June 2010, the Public Enquiry Service Centres (PESCs) of the District Offices and Post Offices will cease to collect public donations to the Trust Fund In Support of Reconstruction in the Sichuan Earthquake Stricken Areas (“the Fund”). Donors wishing to make donations to the Fund may bank-in the donations into one of the following bank accounts namely 「SHAI - Donations for Sichuan Reconstruction」:

(i) Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. (HSBC) account number "004-808-424154-001";

(ii) Bank of China (BOC) account number "012-875-0-039990-0"

For cheque donations, please make cheques payable to “SHAI – Donations for Sichuan Reconstruction”.

Issue of Receipts and Tax Exemption

Tax exemption may be granted to donations made for the purpose of supporting post-quake reconstruction work. Receipts issued by Home Affairs Department may be used for tax exemption purposes. Donors wishing to have official receipts may complete the attached receipt requisition form and return to Finance Section of Home Affairs Department by post together with the original bank pay-in slip, the original receipt from ATM or Internet transfer record.
