District Youth Programme Committees
Terms of Reference of District Youth Programme Committee
- to evaluate the needs for youth development in the district and to co-ordinate youth activities funded by the Home Affairs Department;
- to vet and approve funding applications in respect of youth development programmes including General Activities, Year-round District Youth Activities and Territory-wide/Cross-district Youth Development Activities submitted by local organisations/schools, and monitor the implementation of the programmes and evaluate their effectiveness;
- to be responsible for the publicity and promotion of district based youth activities;
- to organise and co-organise youth development programmes in the district, with a view to enhancing civic awareness of young people, their leadership training and their participation in community affairs; and
- to advise on matters relating to youth activities as and when necessary.
