Sham Shui Po Three Area Committees' Cantonese Opera Show

The Sham Shui Po District Office, in collaboration with the three area committees of Sham Shui Po, organised a three-night series of free Cantonese opera shows to celebrate the Lunar New Year with local residents.

The three-night event attracted approximately 3 000 residents in total. Every performance was staged to a full house and received warm applause.

The children's Cantonese opera performance received applause from the audience and showcased the passing on of Cantonese opera culture.

The event was officiated by the District Officer (Sham Shui Po), Mr Oscar Wong; the Convener of the Event Organising Committee, the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po Central & South Area Committee and member of the Legislative Council, Mr Ray Wong; the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po East Area Committee, Mr Leung Kui-hoi; the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po West Area Committee, Mr Patrick Mak; the Chairman of the Sham Shui Po Residents Association and District Council member, Mr Chan Wai-ming; Assistant Police-Community Relations Officer (Sham Shui Po Police District) of the Hong Kong Police Force, Mr Lee Yiu-ming, and Community Relations Officer of the ICAC West Kowloon Office, Ms Maggie Lam. They gathered with District Council members, members of the three area committees, representatives from various sectors and local residents in a festive atmosphere.
