There are at present a total of 73 Community Halls and 36 Community Centres under the management of Home Affairs Department.

The following facilities, available for booking by local organisations to run community building activities, are provided in the Community Halls / Community Centres:

  1. multi-purpose halls (with stage);
  2. conference rooms;
  3. meeting rooms; and
  4. dressing rooms.

Other facilities including multi-purpose halls / function rooms / conference rooms in Central and Western, Wan Chai, Sai Kung and Tsuen Wan Districts are also available for booking by local organisations to run community building activities.

The Home Affairs Department has entered into licence agreements with Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Limited (CASH), Phonographic Performance (South East Asia) Limited and Hong Kong Recording Industry Alliance Limited for the performance of copyright literary and musical works, playing and showing of sound recordings, music videos and karaoke videos controlled or administered by these copyright licensing bodies at Community Halls / Community Centres / other venues facilities. With effect from 1 Feb 2014, the applicant does not need to apply for an individual licence from these three copyright licensing bodies if the copyright works to be performed, played and/or shown by it at Community Halls / Community Centres / other venues facilities are controlled or administered by these licensing bodies and its performance, playing and/or showing is not excluded by the relevant licence agreements.

If the applicant performs, plays and/or shows copyright musical works, the applicant shall complete the Programme Return Form of CASH and return the duly completed Form to CASH within 30 days from the date of last performance.
