COVID-19 Vaccination Activity in Wong Tai Sin District

Wong Tai Sin District Office in collaboration with Civil Service Bureau (CSB) and Housing Department organised a community COVID-19 vaccination programme at Tsz Wan Shan Saint Bonaventure Catholic Primary School today (September 18). Mrs Ingrid YEUNG, JP (Secretary for the Civil Service) and Mr WONG Chi-wah, JP (District Officer (Wong Tai Sin)) inspected the event and learnt about residents' response to a pilot scheme to visit elderly to encourage them to receive COVID-19 vaccination to cheer for the participants. Under the scheme, Wong Tai Sin district was used as the trial run district. The CSB, the Home Affairs Department and the Housing Department worked with the Wong Tai Sin Community Anti-Coronavirus Link and the Hong Kong Association of Property Services Agents and went door-to-door for two consecutive days starting from yesterday (September 17) to actively persuade elderly residents aged 70 or above and living in Tsz Hong and Tsz Man Estates to receive their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine or get vaccinated on time, and arrange them for receiving the Sinovac or the BioNTech vaccine at the community vaccination event organised in the district. Residents with special needs were also arranged to get vaccinated through the Home Vaccination Service today. A total of 456 persons received their COVID-19 vaccination through the outreach service in the primary school which was closed for the evening. Another five persons got vaccinated through the Home Vaccination Service. Amongst these 461 persons, 20 of them received their first dose.
