Sham Shui Po District

Welcome Message from Paul WONG, JP, District Officer (Sham Shui Po)

Welcome to the website of the Sham Shui Po District Office.

Sham Shui Po is a community of legends. In the district we have the 2000-year old Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb and the newly developed reclamation area; we have the earliest public housing estate and the earliest large-scale private housing development; we transformed from a rural village with only several thousand inhabitants in the last century into the present bustling community with a population of around 400 000. Sham Shui Po is a living testimony of the Hong Kong story.

To further raise public awareness of the activities organized by district organizations and the District Council, we will make use of this homepage to keep you posted of the major activities in our district, so as to let you have a better understanding of the work of the Sham Shui Po District Office.

With changes and improvement in society, there is a growing expectation of the public and the community towards the Government. We will endeavour to enhance the communication between the Government and the community, to strengthen ties with all sectors of the community, to encourage the public to participate in community activities and to promote the work of the District Council.

Let us join hands and work closely together to make Sham Shui Po a community of harmony and vitality.
