Procedures and Charges for Access to Information not Routinely Published

An Access to Information Officer has been designated in headquarters and each District Office to monitor and co-ordinate departmental efforts to meet the requirements of the Code on Access to Information.

Requests for information or record may be made by application form which can be downloaded here or obtained at the reception counter at 29/F of Southorn Centre or Home Affairs Enquiry Centres. Completed form should be addressed to the Access to Information Officer of headquarters or relevant District Office. Please click here to browse their addresses and fax numbers.

The following records are kept by the Access to Information Officers of Headquarters and the 18 District Offices, and will be made available to members of the public for inspection:

Organization chart of Home Affairs Department and its Distribution of Business;

A copy of Code on Access to Information, in both English and Chinese;

A list of records by category and subject held by HAD Headquarters or the District Office concerned;

A list of information either published or which can be made available, whether free of charge or at standard charges; and

A notice on the application procedures and schedule of charges for access to information not routinely published.

Other than publications which are available free of charge, or at cost specified, the photocopying charges^Note (for black and white copies) of HK$1.50 per A4 size copy and HK$1.60 per A3 size copy will be levied in relation to your application unless otherwise specified by the relevant legislation or approved by the Secretary for the Financial Services and the Treasury.
(Note: Photocopying made on both sides of a sheet is counted as two copies.)
